what would you rate my life?

12th October

i have the flu and im bored to death!!!! dont answer if your going to make a stupid or unnessary comment please :)

my name is willow michelle. im sixteen and live in los angeles. my parents are divorced and both remarried. my dad is a music producer and my mom is a makeup artist. i play the accoustic guitar and sing. i go to music school every saturday and thursday. i love going to underground gigs, going to Guitar Center, and pretty much living life :)
i dont fit in with the preppy rich kids at my school and i hangout with the artsy kids. i have long brown hair and im pretty petite, 5′4 and 105 pounds. i love doc martins, converse, kitson, urban outfitters, and vintage stores. i have fourteen siblings and only one is older then 18. my parents are pretty chill and are up for anything. i love going downtown to art galleries and coffee shops. i suck at school and hope music is my future. what do you think of my life?

mrs. beier, my parents are whacked! my dad is this tall and skinny guy who is covered in tatoos and wears clothes that teenage punk rockers would wear. its mortifying! and my mom is short with spiky blonde hair and overdone makeup and she too dresses in clothes meant for a sixteen year old. they both are my life and i love them dearly but they are just a little excentric!
im dah best-seriously your correcting my grammar when you can’t even spell ‘the’ right? wow dude
i was just asking because i am bored and sick!
there aren’t too many fights because my dad’s wife’s kids live with their dad full time and then my dad and amanda (his wife) have younger children.
at my mom’s house there is always fights!!!

8……..Look at it this way your siblings and eccentric parents can never make life boring.

I wouldn’t want your life though. I am sorta okay with mine but I do wish this where different in my life.

what would you rate my life?

Martin 0018

CD now available – Email sosauto@comcast.net for details.

Playing a vintage Martin 0018 guitar

I want to thank YouTube for featuring my ‘This-n-That’ video. I never dreamed this little clip would be so warmly received by the YouTube community. As a hobby guitar player, being seen by nearly a million viewers in less than 2 months could only happen here on YouTube.

Of all the comments that come in, the ones that speak of my videos encouraging them to either take up guitar or renew their interest in it are the most heartwarming. To hear that someone is inspired by them is deeply humbling. Thank you.

guitar for music type…?

8th October

ok. you know how you generally get a certain guitar depending on the type of music you want to play? well what if you did it backwards. you have a guitar and you want to know the best type of music to play on it. like a martin acoustic would probably be bluegrass, that sorta thing. what would be the best music for a 1963 gibson es-125t? hollowbody? and what would be the best amp to get for that music type? aint got to be new cuz i can find vintage.
i didnt say martins were ONLY bluegrass. the word only was not used. at all. you can use a martin to play classical if you want. hell, you can use a classical guitar to play rock. but its not exactly ideal. not saying that martin is bad to use with rock, because its not. its great. but its BEST with bluegrass, thats all, just best. defenently not ONLY for bluegrass. i use mine for everything acoustic. but again. it works best with bluegrass. and all in all. its not a FACT that it works best with anything. just the opinion of myself and many others.

buffster is pretty much right on. Only thing I would say is be careful with the hollowbody. They have a tendency to feed back a little more. And who says Martins are only bluegrass? I believe Mr. Clapton has played only Martin acoustics for at least 15 yrs. I don’t hear much bluegrass from him. I own 2 and they can both rock a little if needed.

To clarify about guitar polish/cleaner…?

2nd October

I just bought some Martin Guitar Polish but need a good fretboard cleaner/conditioner… I can use the polish on the body, back of neck but what should I use to clean and then condition the fretboard with? The store owner told me that I can just use lemon oil, but now that I am searching online there is a lot of controversy about using lemon oil on rosewood fretboards.

Just wondering (not planning to do unless if I get proof of it being ok) could I possibly use something like Pledge Revitalizing Oil with Natural Orange Oil to condition my fretboard? I’ve always heard that plain Pledge is bad, but what about this stuff? … Now that I’m googling, some people use Pledge to clean their fretboards, then condition with lemon oil. Why does cleaning a guitar (in my case, bass) have to be so complex?!? There is info all over the place of what to do and what not to do, so advice would be appreciated! :)

Note – in case if any of those is not good for certain types of woods…. One of my basses is a Squier Vintage Modified P-bass.. maple neck, rosewood fretboard, Agathis body (gloss finish) .. relatively new, just needs a little shine.

Another is a vintage Hohner, with bad cosmetic blems on the body, ash body (gloss finished), maple neck, rosewood fretboard. The fretboard has a LOT of wear, so I need a really good conditioner and cleaner!
so does lemon oil clean & condition all in one? just use a tiny bit, rub on, and then use a clean cloth to wipe any excess off i’m assuming?
http://www.htguide.com/forum/printthread.php4?t=31901

first evidence i’ve found of anyone using the pledge with orange oil on a fretboard… they had a positive review on it. anyone know about this? it’d be more convenient/cheaper right now than lemon oil since i have it..

THe store owner is right, I’m a guitar player and I love the beatles, I’m 13 and I use lemon oil, it cleans it and polishes it. hope this helps!!!
